Long time no publish. Its been crazy for me here and I can't get into it.
Going to finish my brother's quilt. I just have one side of a border to finish before I can start snipping and all that goes with that.
I'm looking forward to a road trip here soon. I need one. Have two road trips coming up in July. One to Detroit to see my cousin get married. He has been a quadriplegic since he was a senior in high school (he is now in his late 40's) and I am so happy that he found someone to love, who loves him back given the challenges he has.
The other trip will be with my BFF and her daughter and a friend of the daughter. Heading for northern Michigan to BFF's family's cabin. Its always been a peaceful place with lots of good memories. I've talked to BFF about my wishes should I die and I think I want to be cremated. She said she would spread my ashes up at the cabin since she knows how much I like it up there. I would like to prepay for my arrangements, however, I am a little leery after reading/hearing news stories about funeral homes and crematories using the money for other things. And I may have that word incorrect - it might be creamatorium, but if you aren't counting, neither am I.
I'm not a big Kid Rock fan, but I sure do like the song he came out with last year about Northern Michigan.
Tigers are doing well this season, so far. They are #1 in their division but behind compared to other teams. I hope they make it to the playoffs this year. One thing I hate about living here is that it seems I can never find a Tigers game on t.v. like I did in Ohio.
Haven't crocheted anything, but have been looking at patterns wanting that "right" one. Have printed some off but right now, my hiatus continues.
I did buy my mountain bike the Friday before Memorial Day. Oh man...its a nice bike, but I haven't been on one in several years and had some problems. I was able to balance myself. That wasn't a problem. My problem is that I can't raise my leg to get it over the top bar and it IS a woman's bike. So, I have to get on it like one would get on a horse by swinging my leg over the seat. Unfortunately, I didn't figure this out until AFTER I fell.
I decided to use the bike to go down the driveway to get the mail and get a feel for things. When I got to the end, by the highway that we live on, I tried to dismount the bike like a girl by bringing my foot over the crossbar. Since I can't get my leg over it (probably due to the neuropathy), the bike went down and so did I. And traffic just happened to be heavy due to the holiday weekend drawing to a close. Good thing I was on the grass at the time. My left knee was swollen and bruised for about 2 weeks. The bruise went from front to back. I've had times when, being a secretary, I've banged the hell out of my knees on the corner of the desk, and not had any problems, so I must've really done something wrong for it to bruise like that. Still having a problem bending it and haven't been on the bike, but I think I might be ready to go again soon. I was thinking, when I did this, of getting my knee xrayed but mom said, "Trust me, if you broke it you'd know." Maybe not broke it but what about something else? Needless to say, I didn't get it xrayed and regret it. I just want to make sure everything is okay with it.
Well, the coffee cup is almost empty and time to get to bed. I see storms in the area on radar and have to unplug everything before I go to bed. Hope you all are doing well and that you found this entry. Take care!
Very happy to see a post from you. I was beginning to worry a bit. I've not been crocheting this summer either. I have an afghan thiiiiisssss close to being finished and just can't get myself in gear. Eh, I'll get around to it.
Glad to hear you have a couple of trips planned. It is good to get away and relax.
